And in the private market, Credo AI has emerged as one of the most focused governance-first startups. Its platform provides automated oversight and compliance checks across generative AI deployments, and it was recently ranked as the leader in Forrester’s AI Governance Wave. While not yet public, companies like Credo represent the next wave of specialized players who could become acquisition targets or IPO candidates as demand for AI trust infrastructure grows.
This ecosystem highlights an important reality: AI governance is no longer a side conversation—it’s a market category. Just as cybersecurity evolved into a must-have layer for every enterprise, governance and control are quickly becoming table stakes for AI adoption. The question is not whether companies will need these tools, but which providers will become the standard.

The AI story isn’t just about who builds the biggest models or sells the most GPUs. It’s also about who ensures those systems are safe, compliant, and usable at scale.
